The government recently passed legislation to makeÌýSeptember 30thÌýa federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As such, all schools in the Â鶹ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ will be closed on Thursday, September 30, 2021.Ìý
This day provides an opportunity for all Canadians to recognize and commemorate the legacy of residential schools. This may present itself as a day of quiet reflection or participation in a community event.Ìý Schools in our district will be engaged in a variety of activities leading up to September 30th to ensure that students understand the significance of this day in our community and in our nation.
